Christ is True Treasure
Matthew 6:19-21..store up treasure in heaven; where your treasure is, there is my heart.

Therefore, our hearts should be set on heaven.  What does this mean?

Colossians 1:3-5…there is a hope laid up in heaven for those with faith in Christ.

Colossians 1:9-12..God has qualified us to share in the inheritance—now let’s learn how to please God.

Colossians 2:1-3--Christ is our inheritance.

Colossians 2:8-10…Don’t be taken captive by worldly philosophies, traditions, principles—all of it is vain.  We are only complete in Christ.

God’s creation was complete at the begininng: Genesis 1:1-2, 26-31.  The pinnacle of God’s creation, mankind, was to take on God’s form.

Then we fell.  And in the time of Noah, God saw utter depravity on earth: Genesis 6:5-7.  God started over with Noah, waiting for the time of Christ and the giving of His Spirit (Matthew 5:17; John 14:1-4, 15-19).  This to re-establish a perfect dwelling place with His creation.

2 Corinthians 5:1-9…true life is yet to come.  In the meantime, let’s make it our ambition to please the Lord.

1 Timothy 6:3-8…Be content with what we have—godliness is true gain.
1 Timothy 6:13-16…Only Christ gives life and possesses immortality.  What was “Christ’s confession?”…”My kingdom is not of this world.” (John 18:36).

He is coming to re-establish His kingdom with those who will treasure only Him.
(Hebrews 11:13-16, "
All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.).
