Statement of Faith
God the Father
Real and present everywhere (Ps 139:7-12)
Eternal—He always was; He always will be (Ps 90:2)
Spirit—He cannot be seen (John 4:24)
Holy. He is separate from all sin; He hates sin (Ex 15:11; Hab 1:13a, Prov 8:12,13)
All Powerful. He uses His great power in creation (Acts 6:24)
All- Wise. He knows and understands everything (Ps 139:1-6)
Sovereign. He rules over all (Ps 93:1-2, Ps 2:1-6)
Faithful. He always keeps His Word (Ps 119:90)
Love. He is Love and He loves everyone (Jn 3:16)
Just/Judge. He rewards and punishes (Eccl 12:14; Heb 9:27; Matt 25:31-46)
Jesus Christ—God the Son
Eternal—He existed with God the Father from eternity past and He will live forever (Jn 1:1, 6:58)
Creator of all things (Jn 1:1-3; Col 1:16-17)
God in a human body (Matt 1:18-25; Lk 1:35; Jn 1:1-12)
Perfect. He never sinned (1 Peter 2:22)
Our sacrifice. He died for our sins (1 Cor 15:3)
Alive. He rose from the dead (Eph 1:20)
Living in Heaven today (Heb 1:3)
Jesus is the Lord of each believer and deserves our service (Jn 20:28; Acts 9:6; Col 3:24; 1 Tim 6:15)
Jesus is coming again to raise the dead and receive His beloved children (1 Thess 4:13-17; Matt 24:29-31)
Going to rule over all (Phil 2:9-11)
God the Holy Spirit
The promised Helper (Jn 14:16)
Convicting people of sin; right and wrong and coming judgment (Jn 16:7-11)
The one who seals believers (Eph 1:13)
Empowers believers for witness (Acts 1:8)
The One who opens God’s Word (1 Cor 2:12-13; 12:3)
God’s down payment, the guarantee that God will take us to Heaven (2 Cor 1:21-22)
Gives gifts to Church for edification (1 Cor 12)
A guide to each Christian (Jn 16:13)
Grieved when we sin (Eph 1:13; 4:30)
The one who enables believers to win over sin and bear fruit (Gal 5:16-25)
Mankind
Created in the image of God. Just as God is an intelligent being, has a will and can express emotions, so we are. We possess intelligence (we think); we have emotions (love, joy , jealousy, anger, etc.); we possess a will, being able to make decisions to obey or not to obey (Gen 1:26—God created man with a free will; Rom. 5:12—Man’s disobedience; Man’s disobedience brought all under sin (Rom 3:23, 5:12; 1 Cor 15:21-22); all are under sin.
Salvation
It is possible because Jesus gave His life on the cross to pay for all sin (Jn 3:16; Heb 7:27, 1 Pet 2:24)
His resurrection proved that He had conquered death and Satan (Gen 3:15; 1 Cor 15:56; Eph 1:20)
Jesus gives eternal life to all who believe and accept His forgiveness by grace. (Jn 3:16; Eph 2:8, 9)
Eternal life. Jesus never leaves us (Jn 10:27-28; Heb 13:5-6)
Bible is Inspired Word of God
The Bible is God’s Word—Old and New Testament (2 Tim 3:16-17)
Necessary in the life of every believer to train in righteousness
Believer’s Baptism
The commandment of Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:16)
Jesus received baptism (Matthew 3:13, 16)
A foundation doctrine of the Church (Acts 2:38)
Meaning of Baptism (Romans 6:1-4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21; Matthew 3:15)
It is and outward expression of an inward change (Romans 10:9)
A pleading for a good conscience (1 Peter 3:2)
To join Christ and to put on Christ (Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27)
